A traditional Japanese style inn. This was a hidden gem! It's close to the train station and was easy to find. Easy to access all the sights with Hakone pass. Both train and bus stop are right next to the hotel. We stayed in a traditional style room where you made your own tatami beds, which was easy even for first timers. The room was big and clean. There was tea and water available and a fridge in the room along with a sink. Shared toilet and showers were with the onsens. Staff was only available for a limited time but friendly and we didn't need any assistance after check in. The onsens were the true gem of this place. You have two onsens inside the hotel and two on the outside. Wonderful! For the price per night, this is what made it incredible. We managed to witness some celebrations of the locals and they invited me to join in. What a beautiful experience.

This is a small and very traditional Inn and Ryokan with 4 private Hot Spring baths - 2 inside within the hotel and another 2 outside just a few steps up some stairs. The baths were amazing and the rental process is incredibly easy (just take a wooden block at the entrance - no list or registration). The baths are open 24h so the worst case is, you have to wait a little. They ask guests to not stay in each bath longer than 60min at a time (but the water is way too hot for this anyway!) The rooms are cute with real tatami (as far as I could tell). The futon was comfy for me but it's still on the floor so be prepared! Because the house is quite old it gets quite chilly at night inside but the provided blankets keep you warm. If you want to have a very traditional experience and a nice hot bath for a very reasonable price, this is the place for you!

The view was amazing, they had plenty of free complimentary items you could borrow (phone charges, adapters, playing cards, traditional gowns etc). Very traditional Japanese style rooms. The onsens are private, so people with tattoos are allowed to use them. They were really nice.

The location was a short walk from Ohiradai Station, with a nearby local store for snacks. There was access to either an outdoor or an indoor bath that was available so long as other visitors weren't using it. A Yukata was provided for use during the stay of the ryokan, and I got to walk around the area as well.

Good place to stay after exploring Hakone. You can do the loop super easily; there is a bus stop 1 min away from the guesthouse. The private outdoor onsen is very nice after a long day of traveling. The place is a bit old but I think that had its own charm. We loved as well that there was green tea waiting for us inside the room.

Loved the hot springs addition, especially as there were outside baths and inside baths available with a simple system to follow. Staff member was incredibly nice and showed us where everything was, as well as how to use the locks on the doors and where the springs were via his tablet. Mountain view room did indeed have a mountain view. We were up early enough to see the sunrise

The outdoor onsen was amazing! Staff is great, and the rooms have everything you need: storage space, a table, cushions and a wash basin, as well as a tea table and two chairs. The decor to enter the room is actually quite nice, and the building itself definitely has a historic charme. In the common areas you can use a micro wave and electric kettle. . We had no complaints about cleanliness at all! Location-wise, it is very easy to reach by bus and train which are running frequently. If you have a Hakone Free Pass, it's very easy to move around, explore, and then come back to quietly relax at the Onsen ;)

Only a 5 minute walk from Ohiradai station so quite accessible. Owner speaks pretty good English so no problems there, This Ryokan is quite old but the room was spacious and clean There were 2 hot spring bathrooms downstairs which were pleasant. There were also 2 outdoor hot spring baths about 4 minutes walk from the Ryokan. my friends tried these and liked them. There is a convenience store and an alcohol store about 2 minutes walk away, Being so close to the Tozan mountain railway is great as you can get to many places in Hakone easily.

The owner was nice and friendly. The place was clean too and it came with 4 onsens to use for free depending on your preference and availability.

We arrived early so had to do the Hakone tour before checking-in, but the reception desk staff waited for us. The private outdoors Onsen are just perfect! We wore the free summer kimonos and enjoyed an evening walk in traditional Japanese outfits :-)
